Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI) Announces Israel’s Innovation Conference – (MIXiii); Event Will Take Place In Tel Aviv In May, Opening Remarks Will Be Delivered By The President Of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres
IATI formally unveiled today MIXiii, Israel’s new premiere hi-tech and biomed conference. MIXiii was created through the marriage of Israel’s two preeminent industry conferences; the IATI hi-tech conference and the IATI biomed conference. This new format led by IATI will also bring the government perspective through a partnership with the Office of Chief Scientist (OCS) of the Israeli Ministry of Economy.
“MIXiii will serve as a focal point for exploring the current and future building blocks of the global venture ecosystem. The merging of Israel with its unique innovation ecosystem and our international speakers and guests will create a unique creative MIX.”
The conference will take place at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds (Ganey Hata’arucha) from May 20 – 22nd. It presents an opportunity for local and global participants to see the full potential of Israel’s advanced technological industries and will serve as a unique occasion for the audience to participate in discussions, panels, product demonstrations, and networking opportunities. The conference will be comprised of two simultaneous events held under one roof, with separate exhibitions and activities. Participants will be free to move from one part of the event to the other.
Both the Biomed and hi-tech venues will include keynote lectures, panel discussions, company presentations and exhibitions. The event will also include joint sessions covering topics of mutual interest to the entire advanced technology industry including: perspectives of innovation and R&D policy and the convergence of technologies between hi-tech and biomed and other factors of the Israeli eco-sector.
MIXiii will feature keynote addresses from global industry leaders including:
- Michael Idelchik, Vice President of Advance Technologies GE Global Research
- Young Sohn, President and Chief Strategy Officer, Samsung Electronics
- Avi Reichental, President and Chief Executive Officer 3D Systems
- Garry Lyons, Chief Innovation Officer, MasterCard Worldwide
- Itsik Danziger, Chairman of the Board and Investor
- Tom H. Adams, Vice President, Biotechnology Monsanto Company
Yoav Chelouche, Managing Partner Aviv Venture Capital, Co-Chairman, IATI: “In the light of world-wide recession and regional political instability, Israel has emerged as a steady and stable force for growth and innovation. Global leaders have been looking for a go-to event that encompasses all of Israel’s technological assets, and brings together the most important players in the industry under one roof. MIXiii will serve as the definitive showcase of Israel’s tech prowess and innovative capabilities.”
Dr. Benny Zeevi, Managing General Partner DFJ Tel Aviv Venture Partners, Co-Chairman, IATI: “For a long time it made sense to have separate events that dealt with individual technological niches. But today, the lines are blurring between the different sectors of technology and especially between the biomed and hi-tech industries. MIXiii was created in response to this trend and aims to push it forward. We hope for the conference to adopt a cross disciplinary spirit and to serve as a driver of cooperation between these two remarkable fields.”
Ruti Alon, General Partner Pitango Venture Capital: “While Israel has emerged as a pioneer and as a center for innovation in the biomed sector, there is still untapped potential for growth, and development. Israel’s biomed industry is hungry for partnerships and opportunities to cooperate with biomed companies from around the world. We believe that MIXiii will fill this gap and will enable Israel’s biomed sector to expand its global presence as well as form new relationships with Israel’s already well-established hi-tech Industry.”
Prof. Yesha Sivan, Executive Director of the Coller Institute of Venture at Tel Aviv University: “MIXiii will serve as a focal point for exploring the current and future building blocks of the global venture ecosystem. The merging of Israel with its unique innovation ecosystem and our international speakers and guests will create a unique creative MIX.”
