In 2016, The Israeli Start-ups have raised $4.6 billion against $4.43 billion in 2015 according to figures from the IVC-KPMG Research Center. On the other hand, there were fewer transfers and IPOs, which can be explained by the willingness of entrepreneurs to create a mature Israeli industrial fabric.
The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, which has become a world benchmark in the areas of science and technology, has enabled the realization of many successes in all areas of excellence related to smart technologies. The President of the Technion, Professor Peretz Lavie, has repeatedly emphasized the impact and importance of what the Industrial Revolution 4.0 represents. This corresponds to the automation of the means of production by digitizing and making factories intelligent. This industrial revolution is driven by the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and robotics replacing the human in many cases. The machines now have capabilities they had never known before. Jobs in which productivity can be greatly improved by technology are already declining. Tasks that are standardized, repetitive and involving models can now be performed a million times faster by algorithms. Industry 4.0 thus places Man at the center of concerns.
Technion France understood perfectly the takes representing our company connected in all scientific and technological and economic fields, but also social and philosophical.
The 15th edition of the Scientific Manifestation will focus on: #TechnionConnectedWorld, Towards a Revolution 4.0. It will take place on December 11, 2017 and will bring together with a prestigious delegation of researchers of the Technion of Haifa, leaders of major French companies, entrepreneurs, researchers, and opinion leaders. They will share with the public their experience and their vision on this theme which has become a real challenge for society today and tomorrow.
The First Session will address the topic of Health, Beauty and Foodtech & Connected Nutrition, as well as their applications in Robotics through Artificial Intelligence in order to present the latest innovations in medical devices, products and of services dedicated to health and food well-being in order to simplify the journey and the care of the patient and to optimize the efficiency of the healthcare professionals.
The Second Session will explain the issues surrounding intelligent transport in the fields of Space, Autonomous Systems and the Connected Car but also Energy and Water. In 2014, the International Federation of Robotics has identified more than 12 million robots worldwide, mainly in the industry and specifically in the automotive industry. The international robotics market rose from $3.7 billion in 2013 to $17.5 billion in 2016.
Finally, the Third Session will discuss the future challenges of Cybersecurity, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Networks, Telecoms and 5G as well as Ethical aspects with the presence of the Director of Cyclesecurity Research Center of Technion inaugurated in 2016. This Plateau will explain the outcomes in terms of Protection and Verification of Software and Hardware, Cloud Security, IoT System Protection, Computer Vision, Security and Confidentiality of Systems, Operating Systems and Autonomous Systems, Cryptology and Cryptanalysis.
Following this Third Session, the #TechnionConnectedLab brings together in a space dedicated to human size Start-up of the Accelerator of the Technion “The Drive“, as well as Start-ups from Accelerators, SMEs, Major Groups and Clusters of Competitiveness French partners of Technion France and Technion, will conclude this Scientific Day. The Connected Lab will place Innovation at the fingertips and will be a moment of convergence between technology providers, economic players, start-ups, investors and entrepreneurs, putting Human at the center of value creation.
The Connected Lab is a great opportunity for exchanging and sharing, creating the services of tomorrow that will facilitate everyday use.
